PR-Public Relations and the consumer

-Public relations is used as a persuasive tool in communications in many ways than one. PR department in companies are in charge of communicating to the public and other companies what their product is all about. PR is used to make sure the public is talking about the product in a good way and spreading awareness about the desired product.
A lot of PR department use different strategies to communicate with the public. For example, I am taking an Advertising class right now and a PR group in my class, created different strategies to promote JCP. They suggested using four girls who would be called the JCPenneys and they will portrait the typical consumer for the JCP target market. Also, 5k Run and sponsorship with celebrities are also different PR strategies companies might use to persuade the consumer into liking their product.
