Media and advertising both depend greatly on each other. Mass media allows advertising to even exist through forms such as; newspapers, television, magazine and the internet. Mass media provides access to the public which is the ultimate purpose of advertising; public attention and recognition. However the media also depends on advertising to stay afloat through the revenue advertising supplies. Even though advertising is not exactly considered to be a form of mass media; it is valid enough to stand on its own outside of mass media because mass media needs it.
