What is technology dependence?

Technology dependence may sounds like a bad thing when most people first hear it, however most people today are dependent on technology. When every part of your life involves technology, you are technologically dependent. Most people start out their day by waking up to an alarm, how would they wake up without this technology? They then proceed to make breakfast, typically using a microwave, toaster, or oven to cook their breakfast. What if you had to make a fire and cook your food over fire every morning? They then go to work where most people use phones, computers, and various other forms of technology. When they come home they again a technology to cook their food. Next most people enjoy entertainment. Good old fashion entertainment does not typically happen anymore. Do you yourself often sit down and read a book or have a conversation for entertainment? Most people go and watch television, play a video game, or wind down by watching a movie. According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV each day (or 28 hours/week, or 2 months of nonstop TV-watching per year). The goal for technology workers is to make the average person more and more dependent and addicted to technology. They make everything easier, faster, and more accessible.
