New ways to report news

The study, which focused on trying to understand “the new news landscape” in the United States, comes at a time when many newspapers and television stations around the country are struggling, as more Americans turn to other channels to get information. It reveals that the internet comes in as third most popular source for daily news, just behind local and national television news broadcasts.

As we all know, the internet enjoys a great increase in popularity in recent years, especially with the introduction of mobile phone technology so that phone users can access to the latest news wherever they are. The report said: “In this new multi-platform media environment, people’s relationship to news is becoming portable, personalized, and participatory.

The traditional news reporting style in newspaper and television broadcast focuses on factual information presented objectively. For me, I think it’s relatively boring to read. In recent years, I read online newspaper every day because the visual aids attract me a lot. In the online newspaper, video clips are usually added which make the news more reader-friendly. Also, some websites allow me to comment on the news immediately and people share their viewpoints on the discussion board, which is an excellent function for us to discuss the news.
