Conglomeration in Hollywood

Although conglomeration in the movie industry may be viewed in a negative light by some is in my mind a good thing. There seems to be somewhat of a debate going up on whether or not conglomeration is a good or bad thing. I think that it is a positive thing because it allows for larger scale movies such as Avatar, Transformers, and other such blockbusters to be made. It allows for a larger budget that smaller movie companies lack.

On the other hand, conglomeration in hollywood could possibly lead to companies focusing primarily on production rather than quality. Production companies are always trying to one-up each other, and crate a biggest blockbuster. With this mindset it is very possible that the overall quality and content of the movie will suffer.
