What is Media Literacy?

- Media literacy is a person’s ability to recognize how mass media works, how and what they produce and how they those things. Media literacy acknowledges the impact that media has on a person’s daily life. Someone who is media literate can recognize the effects of the media in their own life but choose to enjoy them. Mass media plays a major role in the daily life of people. Social media such as Facebook and MySpace is a major form of communication between many people. Media has its way of becoming a major part of everything because it is so easy and simple to use.
Media literacy is how messages are sent across large amounts of people through all the forms of social media. Media literacy is a benefit for learning because it allows for communication through many social medias.
