Understanding the media and the messages it is trying to convey is the meaning of media literacy. Watching television, going on the internet, reading a billboard pretty much anything can have something to do with the media. I believe most people in the U.S. are media literate because of how exposed they are to all of it. This generation right now growing up with the internet and having the ability to look any information they need has made it even easier to be media literate.

Media literacy is a form of communication and can be an easy way of being in touch of the news. Simply going on a news website can get you any involved on the world news. The media usually has an attended audience and when someone is not that audience then the media message can have a biased with it. That is why it is important to be media literate.
