Technology dependence is a term that refers to just how much media and it’s various sources depend on technology. If you think about it just about every form of media relies on technology whether it be a newspaper or a radio broadcast. The book give a good example of technology dependence by describing how earlier forms of media relied on electronics to project the voice of the speaker. This same reliance on technology is true with print forms of media. In order to produce a magazine or newspaper, technology is needed to format the layout and physically print the final product.
All in all, media relies on technology just as much as we rely on technology to access whatever form of media we want. Without technology, media would be stuck at a standstill and there would be no consumers.
